Pastor

Scott was called as pastor of Metro Baptist Church in New York City in February 2015 after serving as Senior Pastor of Kirkwood Baptist Church (St. Louis, MO) for 12 years. Scott provides primary leadership for Metro's congregational ministries. In addition, he serves as a presence for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and Baptist World Alliance at the United Nations where he currently heads the Human Rights Cluster of the NGO Major Group. He holds degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and the University of Oklahoma (Ph.D.).  He sits on the board of Brightpoint Health (NYC), the Ministry Council of the CBF, and the advisory board of the New Baptist Covenant.  Scott is married to vocal teacher and mezzo-soprano, Cecelia Stearman.
