Beloved Metro member, Shannah Rae, passed away suddenly on September 19, 2025 after a brief illness. Shannah was such a joyful, creative and warm member of our community for many years, and she will be greatly missed.  She touched so many people throughout her life - including her family and friends, faith communities, students, and wider creative circles. You can read her full obituary here.

Shannah's funeral will be held on Saturday, September 17 at 11:00 AM Central Time at her hometown church, First Baptist Church of Galena, KS.  The service can be streamed live here.

A memorial service will be held here at Metro Baptist Church and is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, October 26 at 2:00 PM Eastern.  All are welcome, and the memorial service will also be streamed live (link to come).
