Celebrating the Past - Building the Future!

Metro Baptist Church is honored to be celebrating 50 years of God's blessings and ministry in New York City!  All are invited to a special anniversary celebration October 18-20, 2024.  The celebration schedule can be found below.  We hope to have Metro friends and family from all over join us.  If you are planning to join us or would like to learn more, please respond to our Anniversary Celebration RSVP by September 20.


Friday, October 18 - Metrofest! 
6:00-8:00 PM - We'll kick off the weekend with a chance to reconnect. Join us for an Oktoberfest style mixer with German-themed snacks in honor of our Rauschenbusch heritage. 


Saturday, October 19 - Sunrise to Sunset: A Day in the Life of Metro

8:30 AM-12:00 PM - Opportunities to volunteer in the food pantry and HKFP, weather permitting

12:00-1:00 PM - Choir rehearsal for Sunday service

12:30-3:00 PM - The church building will be open for tours of the building as well as art & historical exhibits

1:30-3:00 PM -  Walking tour of the local community

6:30-9:00 PM - Dinner and Celebration of Metro's History through Story and Song (ticketed event)


Sunday, October 20 - Sunday Celebration

11:00 AM-12:30 PM - Special Morning Worship & Celebration

12:30-1:30 PM - Post-church Meal

1:15-3:00 PM - Open mic to share songs, stories, and memories

METRO 50TH ANNIVERSARY DINNER BANQUET

Metro Baptist Church Sanctuary


Join us for a delicious dinner and an artistic retelling of Metro's first 50 years through story and song. The entertainment for the evening is written, produced, and performed by members of our Metro community. It will be a night of joy, laughter, nostalgia, and reconnection. We're excited to gather with you there! 

The banquet is a ticketed event, with suggested donations but open to all.  And, if you are not in town for the event, you still have an option to donate to cover someone else's meal and/or contribute to Metro's ongoing building and program needs.
